Pizza & Pasta Making

The most Italian thing a group can do together, and the most revealing.

A team holds up a tray of freshly made spaghetti alla chitarra in front of a Venetian villa

Every international group asks for it, and for good reason: cooking together is something people already know how to do in a group. Zero learning curve, zero embarrassment, nobody wondering if they will be good enough. Aprons on, and it starts. Under the surface, a kitchen is a small production system with every problem a company has: limited resources, tight timings, phases that depend on each other, someone who has to decide and someone who has to execute. If the brigade does not organise itself, dinner comes out late and badly. The metaphor explains itself, because the participants watch it happen.

Pasta Making

The kitchen becomes a pasta workshop and the colleagues become sfoglini, the people who roll the dough. Mixing, rolling, shaping, cooking: four stations with three hand-overs, and the quality is judged at the table, all together. It is the format that scales best of all, because it does not depend on the oven: we have run it with 300 participants.

Pizza Making

Dough, toppings, oven. The most requested format of the family, ideal up to 30 people: there is one oven, and agreeing on the turns is already half the work. Above 30 we mix Pizza and Pasta, so half the group works away from the oven and nobody queues.

What it looks like

Pasta first, then pizza: two real days, filmed as they happened.

And then there is the end

Almost no team building format ends with everyone sitting at the same table eating what they made together. This one does. It is the part people remember, and the part where the real work happens: the conversations at the table are different from the ones in the meeting room, and the people who did not talk during the activity end up doing it over a plate. What the team keeps is a result that belongs to everyone, and the trust in a piece of work done by someone else's hands.

Three questions

Where?

In your hotel, if the kitchen allows it, or in a cooking venue we select in the city. We bring what is needed.

How long?

Two hours is enough, two and a half is where it gives its best. It sits well in the slot before dinner, and what the group cooks is what the group eats.

Dietary needs?

Tell us before: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergies are handled in the recipe, and nobody is left watching.

Let’s talk about your next team building in Italy

The format can wait. Tell us what you want your team to take home, how many you are and where you will be, and we do the rest: within 24 hours you receive a proposal in English with the formats that hold up with your numbers, and with what each one leaves the team the day after.
